There’re always caraway seeds in my pantry these days - primarily for brewing Caraway drink, and we found out it’s such a versatile ingredient! We add caraway seeds to our roasted potatoes, our roasted fish and our Hasselback potatoes - and now to these salty breadsticks I baked using my favourite super-time-saving frozen puff pastry. Stano liked them so much that he agreed to help me with grating cheese and cutting dough for another batch :) These sticks are best served warm, especially in case you use 2 eggs as I did (the breadsticks are pretty soft and best eaten fresh out of the oven). If you want them crispier on the outside, use just one egg and simply brush them with beaten egg and then sprinkle cheese and caraway on top.

Now I have to tell you seven things about myself and pass this award on to bloggers who I think are fantastic. Here we go:
1. If I could start another blog, it would about sleep. I love to sleep nearly as much as I love to eat well. Or is it called just idleness?..
2. My favourite city on Earth is Reykjavik, even though I wouldn’t like to live there because it’s too cold and isolated. I will certainly revisit it someday - and see again those colourful house roofs, that cold ocean coastline and those tall beautiful people. I think I was an Icelander in my previous life. That’s where my heart belongs, even though I prefer to spend my summer vacation in sunny Croatia.
3. I skipped the first grade of primary school because my parents had taught me too much at home, lol :) So they had to send me directly to second grade.
4. I hope Ivanka will go to a Math school when she grows up, because I believe nothing develops your mind better than Math.
5. I studied Swedish for four years, but I’ve only been to Sweden once. It was a business trip to Karlstad via Stockholm, so I didn’t even get to see the capital properly.
6. I have studied Italian for a year, but I was pregnant for 5 months out of the 12 so I didn’t really learn a lot, hehe. I’d love to try everything from the beginning when Ivanka gets older.
7. I have dyed my hair blond and chocolate brown and I still can’t decide which is better. Or maybe my natural colour?..

Cheese and Caraway Breadsticks
5 sheets puff pastry, 10cmx20cm in size or similar (thawed)
2 tbsp caraway seeds
2/3 cup grated Gouda or similar cheese
2/3 tsp kosher salt
Pinch of cayenne pepper
2tsp all-purpose flour
Makes 25 breadsticks
Cut the dough into 2×20cm strips or so.
In a flat bowl, beat the eggs, add salt, caraway seeds, cayenne pepper, and grated cheese. Stir well.
Twist strips of dough into spirals and dip each strip into the egg and cheese mix, generously coating each strip with the mix.
Sprinkle flour onto your baking sheet and arrange breadsticks on the sheet.
Bake at 180C/350F for 15 minutes. Serve warm.
